| Well I know it's not a straightfoward railway collection. But as well railways music is another of my interests. John Peel was radio DJ here in Britain, who played new & different music, who sadly passed away in October 2004. So the 1st John Peel Day, in Ipswich in whixch a number of local bands performed in the great man memory. But there is a railway connection, Cotswold Railway have just named 47 813 John Peel, to follow 47 828 Joe Strummer late frontman of rock group The Clash. 47 813 seen at Norwich & Ipswich on 8/11/05. 47 828 worked a passenger train between London Liverpool Street & Norwich as part of it's Thunderbird duties seen arriving at Ipswich on 14/9/06 |
